Dish Soap Trick / Masking Acrylic with Dish Soap
Dish Soap as a Masking Alternative: What’s the Deal?
If you’ve been diving into acrylic tips and tricks, you’ve probably heard about using dish soap as a masking agent (or even a full-on replacement for masking). But how does it actually work?
It’s a super simple hack: apply a thin, even layer of dish soap directly to your acrylic before cutting. Dish soap acts as a natural flame retardant, which helps reduce scorching during the laser process.
No need to let it dry, just drop a few squirts on your sheet and use a paper towel or paintbrush to spread it out evenly. That’s it! You’re ready to go.
